Data Deletion Instructions

You have full control over your data. Follow the instructions below to delete your account and data from IELTS Speaking Test Prep.

Your Right to Delete: In accordance with privacy regulations and Google Play policies, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. This page explains how to exercise that right.

Methods to Delete Your Data

You can request data deletion using any of the following methods:

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

The easiest way to delete your data is directly through the app:

  1. Open the IELTS Speaking Test Prep app
  2. Go to User Profile tab
  3. Scroll down to Delete Account Permanently
  4. Confirm your decision when prompted
  5. Your data will be permanently deleted within 7 days
Method 2: Email Request

If you cannot access the app or prefer email, send your deletion request to:

Subject Line: Data Deletion Request

Include in your email:

  • Your account email address or username
  • Confirmation that you want all your data deleted
  • Any additional account identifiers (if applicable)

We will respond within 48 hours and complete the deletion within 30 days.

What Gets Deleted

When you request data deletion, the following information will be permanently removed:

  • Account Information: Username, email address, profile data
  • Voice Recordings: All your recorded practice sessions
  • Practice History: Scores, progress tracking, and assessment results
  • User Preferences: Settings and personalization data
  • Device Data: Any stored device identifiers
⚠️ Important Notes
  • Permanent Action: Data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
  • Backup Your Data: If you want to keep your practice history, export your data before deleting (if available in app)
  • Active Subscriptions: Cancel any active subscriptions separately through Google Play Store before deleting your account
  • Processing Time: Deletion will be completed within 30 days of your request

Data Retention for Legal Purposes

In some cases, we may need to retain certain data for legal or regulatory purposes:

  • Transaction Records: Payment and subscription history may be retained for tax and accounting purposes (typically 7 years)
  • Legal Obligations: Data required by law to be retained will be kept in secure, restricted storage
  • Anonymized Data: Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot identify you may be retained for analytics

These exceptions are minimal and comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations.

Verification Process

To protect your privacy and prevent unauthorized deletion requests, we may need to verify your identity:

  • We may ask you to confirm your account email address
  • You may need to log into the app to verify ownership
  • Additional verification may be required for accounts with purchase history

After Deletion

Once your data is deleted:

  • You will receive a confirmation email (if you provided an email address)
  • You will no longer be able to access your account
  • All your practice history and recordings will be permanently removed
  • You can create a new account in the future, but previous data cannot be recovered

Alternative: Partial Data Deletion

If you don't want to delete your entire account, you can:

  • Delete Individual Recordings: Remove specific practice sessions from your history
  • Clear Practice History: Keep your account but reset your progress
  • Pause Your Account: Stop using the app without deleting data

These options may be available in the app's Settings under Privacy or Data Management.
